I have been playing guitar since the age of 4 and have been teaching full time since 2012. Lessons last for 30 minutes, cost £30 and are conducted at my studio in Eastleigh. 60 minute lessons are available on request and cost £50. Lessons can be paid for by cash, card or direct to my bank.
Beginner students learn correct techniques from the start, intermediate students advance further – correcting any bad habits, and advanced players learn fresh skills whilst keeping their core technique up to scratch.
All my pupils learn songs as early as possible. A mixture of “classics” and modern chart songs that match their age and ability. When it comes to new skills and songs, I design specific exercises to help each individual. I’m here with help and encouragement all the way.
I can teach on all types of guitar including nylon string “Spanish” acoustic, steel string acoustic and electric, and I tailor lessons to include finger style, plectrum and strumming techniques.
I start teaching students from 7 years old and have a great rapport with young and older students.
As a songwriter, singing and playing with my own band with BBC6 Music credits and a string of festival and gig performances, I can help with song composition, stage production and performance skills.
If you have been considering lessons but are not sure if they are for you then arrange a 30 minute sample lesson for £27.50. If you enjoy it then you can book more. To contact me please use the form below or text me 07812150809

There are many reasons I look forward to guitar lessons with Nick. He is friendly and has a natural gift for teaching. He balances the need to be encouraging with the need to get the technique right and he does this without being pushy or impatient. His instructions are clear but he also has time to listen to what I have to say. Nick is a true musician and his years of experience are clearly passed on in his teaching.
After years of thinking about taking lessons I’ve now taken the plunge it’s been fun and very rewarding and most of this is down to Nick.

I really enjoy my guitar sessions with Nick. His passion for the art really comes across in his teaching, passing on his knowledge and adapting his methods to keep the lessons fun and ensure I keep improving.

Nick has been a fantastic teacher; he really cares for and puts effort into the art of teaching. I started lessons with him completely from scratch having never played an instrument before and he keeps finding new ways to help me understand and learn new skills. I came to him as just a muppet with a guitar and now I’ve learned to sing, record my own albums and performed at festivals.

Nick has been fabulously fun and patient teaching my son, Guy, guitar. Guy has loved playing lots of different songs, learning new techniques and chatting and laughing with Nick. He’s learnt loads and it’s great to hear them play and sing along together!
